My hair is very flat. When I try to curl it with a curling iron it will not stay.?

It just gets flat again. Even when I use hair spray. How can I get it to curl and stay??My hair is very flat. When I try to curl it with a curling iron it will not stay.?
omg my hair does that too, like its not flat or anything but curls never stay in my hair for longer than an hour, sometimes it depends on the curling iron, my friend did my hair for a dance once with a revlon curler and it stayed in all night and she put loads of gel in it before she curled it, you could try thatMy hair is very flat. Curls activator
get a volume iesed shampoo. good luck!
roll it in the curling iron and while it's still rolled spray hair spray on it, my aunts a beautician and she said that the hair spray protects the hair from getting burnt so don't be afraid when it makes a steaming noise it's supposed to do that.
I have the exact same problem! Try putting mousse in your hair while it's still wet from a shower, blow dry, and then try curling it. I remember my friend had some sort of gel that was meant for curling hair but I forget what it was. Hope that helps ^^
try a volumizing cream with slight hold before hand just even distribute through damp hair blow dry and when you curl hairspray it girl!! also i have heard its way easier with a day old dirty hair so dont wash that night or morning
try using hotrollers, or put regular curlers/rollers in your hair and leave them overnight... my sister in law has the same problem she has very thick hair and curls will not stay in her hair, that is what she uses. you might also try putting some type of gel or moose on them to help them stay
try rollers at night
I have that same problem! I have tryed not using conditiner! This works!
There is some shampoos and conditioners that will give your hair body because your hair is really flat and theres also some shampoos that will curl up your hair!!
Well, use voluming shampoo, conditioner, creme, and hairspray. May I suggest Sunsilk.

P.S. PLEASE put me as best answer!!
try curling your hair when it is dirty. don't wash your hair the day you plan on curling it. spray the section of the hair before you are about to curl it and then again after. when you are finished, spray again all over your hair.

you can also try putting foam curlers on the night before you want your hair curled.
volumizing shampoo and curlers
When you want to curl your hair, use volumizing and/or curl-enhancing shampoo the night before. Then (the next morning) use the curling iron, setting it at the highest heat level and holding each bit of hair for a few seconds - try counting to 5, 10, 30, etc.. you need to experiment with this to see what time works best. Right after you curl a section of hair, spray it with a lightweight, but strong, hairspray. I use Aussie Instant Freeze (Maximum Hold).
Hi:)

In my experience a set of rollers is better than a curling iron.

Its important to have a good professional curling iron.

Sephora.com or your local beauty supply place will carry them.

To get longer lasting curls don't wash your hair everyday.

When you do wash use a light conditioner one that doesn't

weight down the hair. Use a volumizer before styling. Matrix makes a few good products from the Amplify line. Lightly spray each section before your curl with hairspray. I have used Sebastian and it works great. Also flip your hair and spray under the hair. And then carry a small bottle with you throughout the day for a touch up.

Also what I finally ended up doing was going to a salon

and asking for a wave, or a loose/long perm. If you have long

hair you'll have super results. Then I use this http://www.garnierfructisusa.com/?sectio鈥?/a>
Moose.
First of all, you need to dry your and curl it immediately after. However when you dry it leave 5% - 10% of the moisture so it's ever so slightly damp, not bone dry, then curl.

The reasoning: water breaks down the hydrogen bond in the hair shaft and blow drying re-hardens the bond in the new shape. When you curl there will be some steam as you solidify the hydrogen bond.

You should also use a Mousse or styling glaze when drying and hairspray before and after curling. Also try drying with your head upside down to get the lift and fluffiness you want.

This is the best advice I can give you without knowing the thickness of your hair shaft, texture, condition of your hair etc.
