Try it with a curling iron. The more you do it the better you will get at it. And if you still can't do it after a few tries, ask your mum or friend to help you. They are just small curls and shouldn't take long to do.

Help with styling my hair!?

I want to grow my hair long, just below my breasts. Right now it's shoulder length. In order to reduce damage, I need to learn how to style my hair without a flat iron or curling iron or blow dryer, which I'm addicted to. My hair is fine, and medium thickness. It's naturally wavy, but kind of straight too. Any ideas on how to style my hair without heat.Help with styling my hair!?
Wash your hair at night and let it air dry...in the morning then you can flat iron it. use bio-silk serum it' made from the silk from a silk worm and it will activate with heat and make your hair shiny and repairs damage. by skipping blow drying your hair it will help damage it less.Help with styling my hair!?
Thanks. I'll have to try it.

Having a hard time curling my hair?

my hair used to be really curly when i was little and now its just wavy and think. i want to be able to make loose curls with a curling or flat iron but i dont know how. should i straighten it first or not?Having a hard time curling my hair?
DOn't straighten it. It'll make it harder to curl, ITs easier to use a straightener . It has a lot of different curl styles you can use. On youtube, search BubzBeauty. She mostly does her things with straighteners , i curl my hair all the time now. Have fun . :DHaving a hard time curling my hair?
Wash Your Hair Wait Till It's Drish-Damp And Tie A Bun Over Night Then Moose It Again And You Will Have Loose Curls

get a wig no combing ha ha ha ha a joke.
NO! dont flatten your hair before you curl! That isn't a good idea! first of all, it is more heat damage on your hair than you need, and second of all if u flatten it and then try to curl, your results will be dry, flat ugly curls. When your hair is damp, you should apply a anti-humidty smoothing cream. (Try Herbal Essences None of Your frizzness or Garnier Fructis Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk) and then let your hair air dry.

When it's time to curl, spritz you hair with hair with heat protecting spray. then put your hair up in layers so you you can make sure each piece is curled. so, instead of using the clamp on the curling iron, just take a few inches of hair and (start from the scalp but dont burn your head) wrap the hair around the barrel of the curling iron and wind it up as far as it can go, and hold for 15-20 seconds (or maybe less depending on how much hair) Also you have to hold the tip of your hair thats wrapped around other wise its not gonna stay haha obviously! then let it go and it might look weird at first but just play around with it. You will notice its a more springy curl, and if you don't like how that looks so sculpted, then gently run your fingers through it to make it more loose. Without the clamp looks way prettier than with it. Trust me! Hope this helped! :)

Curling hair but curls WONT hold?

Okay so am i'm typing this i JUST finished curling the left side of my hair (sorry im kinda blogging?) and as i finish what i'm saying im sure it will be flat! (kinda trying to explain fully)

I know you'll say this is HORRIBLE but i dont put any heat protectant in my hair, nothing. I just curl away and by the time i finish my hole head about 10 minutes later my curls are gone! I dont mind using hair spray, but i've already tried to spray them after i'm done and that just made my hair flat and stuff then instantly washed my hair and was angry the rest of the day.

I don't know how to keep the curls in. I've tried doing the wave look with a straightener, figuring it's less curl and would stay in. nope! didn't.

Now i'm doing it with a curling iron %26amp; they have shrunk with the 3 min. it took me to write this! i have one good curl and the rest are starting to fall.

How do i get my curls to hold! =/Curling hair but curls WONT hold?
hii sweetie, i understand your frustration.

what always works for me is to part my hair start at the bottom and work my way up.

and grab about a inch of hair and hair spray it and the curl it. depending on how good your curling iron is i would hold it for a good 20-30 secs. then slowly work your hair out of the iron.

once i finish a whole row i would then hairspray it all and start on the next row of hair.

i know this sounds like a long process but honestly i have always been complimented on how my hair is so nice when curled. after about an hour your curls wont be so tight and they will look like soft beautiful curls =]

hope i helped!! have a good day

Curling hair? Easy points!?

Okay, so I need to know how to curl hair with either:

A wide flat iron

Braiding

I know how to braid my hair, but whenever I do it, my hair poofs instead of curling. I don't want really tight curls, but more like soft waves. How many braids should I make? My hair is not very thick, kind of medium.

I have a wide flat iron, and I've seen people curl with a thin iron, but I have no idea how to use a wide one.

I'd appreciate videos a lot, and comments would help too.

THANKS SO MUCH!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!Curling hair? Easy points!?
it's reallly hard to curl with a wide flat iron

I would buy a cheap thin iron and use it because they make the best waves

braiding is just messy

but if you do

make thicker braids like two pigtail braids after a shower when hairs damp

maybe use some curling mousse first then make two braids on each side

in the morning undo the braids and shake hair lose no brushing...or it will be pouffyyyyCurling hair? Easy points!?
here's a great vid on how to curl with a flat iron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fkSwiszO鈥?/a>

the other day i was watching a vid on how to make your hair curly by braiding it. If you're really interested email it to me and i'll send it to you b.c. i cant find it right now and i dont have time to youtube it. holla
do like 2-3 braids and use antifrizz stuff if you hae it.
For using a flat iron you need too follow the preparatory steps in How to Curl Hair.

Spray hair with heat protectant spray and comb through. This creates a protective barrier between the hair and the iron so that the hair doesn't 'frizzle' and burn. Therefore, this is highly recommended.

Brush you hair thoroughly. Section hair: starting at the nape of your head (that is, the part closest to, or on, your neck), estimate an imaginary line 1-inch above the back hair line. Section away and clip up all the remaining hair. You should be left with an inch-thick section of hair closest to the hairline.

From this remaining section of hair, take an inch meche. That is, the piece you've just separated should now be an 1-inch x 1-inch square x length of hair. Note: The size of the section you take influences the size and crispness of the curl. Smaller sections make smaller, tighter curls, and more of them. Large sections make large, lose curls and few of them. The inch x inch is a guide.

For Flicks:

Start half-way down the length of hair, clamp the iron closed and turn it back on itself in a half turn. You should now have created a U-shape with the hair and the iron. Keeping the iron on that half-turn angle, slowly move it down the hairshaft to the end of the hair. The faster you move the iron, the less pronounced the curl/flick will be.

For Curls:

Start fairly close to the scalp (but not close enough to accidentally burn it), clamp the iron closed and turn it back on itself a half turn (the same as with flicks). Run the iron slowly down the hairshaft to the end. Again, the slower you move the iron, the tighter the curl. The faster you move the iron, the gentler the wave.)

Move onto the next inch x inch section. Once you've finished an entire row, section the next inch-wide row and then make your smaller sections to curl.

Finish with hairspray or laquer.

For curling your hair through braids take a normal shower or bath. Shampoo and condition your hair like you usually would. When you're done, comb, not brush your hair. Pin the top half of your hair on the top of your head.

Comb out the bottom layer and divide it into two sections. You don't have to pin it up; just pull them over your shoulders. Braid each section. Try to braid them tightly or the curls will be really frizzy and weird-looking. Be sure to start as close to the scalp as possible. After you're done with the bottom layer, let down the top half and repeat the step.

Leave them in for the night. The braids should keep it from getting tangled, but if you're worried that it will get messed up while you sleep, you can use a shower cap or something to protect it.

Unbraid your hair the next morning.

Comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb or just rake your fingers through it. Fluff it up a little and have fun with it.

Add hairspray or some curl sculpting gel. It keeps it from getting frizzy and the hairspray keeps the humidity away from it.

make sure not to brush in the morning becuase it will get really frizzy and fluffy

how do i get my hair like this?

her curls look really natural but still super pretty!

(mine come out very goldie locks-ish lol)

    and i don't have a curling iron.

i curl my hair with a hair straightener (flat iron).

it sounds weird, but it works.

and tips to get this look though?

    thank you SO much!

    =)

ps - any tips about curling hair with a straightener, period, would be nice. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. lol thanks again!Pretty please help me?
once u get out of the shower put lots of mouse in your hair. When your hair is just about dry, place big Velcro curlers horizontally down the middle/top of you head. Take the hair on the sides of you head put the large curlers vertically. Blow dry your hair. Once hair is dry, pull curlers out. Dont Brush... just kind of pick through it and spray.Pretty please help me?
Well I think her hair color makes a big difference. Try curling from the bottom up.
I'm pretty sure her curls and locks were done professionally...

...and I'm still scratching my head about curling your hair with a flat iron...
you seriously need to get a curling iron.

they have ones that are straighteners and curling irons.

    like this one

    http://www.target.com/Conair-Ceramic-Str鈥?/a>
Ya, its easier with a curling iron but, her hair color makes a difference. There are many factors such as hair length or w/e. Oh and if they come out very goldie lock-ish maybe your holding the iron on for too long. Just shorten the time, and it should come loose and wavy, but im sure its just fine the way it is =)
This look is done with a large barrel curling iron. You could get this look with a round brush and hair dryer too. Just take a strand of hair and put mousse on it and curl it around on the round brush and dry it with hair dryer. Then when it is dry use your fingers to seperate the hair. Don't comb through it. This will stay all day with mousse on it. Better with a large curling iron though.
to get that look your going to need to buy a curling iron. when you get the curling iron just curl the curls close together. Goldilocks curls probably come from the straightener. but if u absolutely don't have a curling iron stay away from the straightener!!!! Follow the steps below

    1. Take a shower

    2. dry it with a towel until its damp. DO NOT BRUSH IT!!!

    3. Put a curling product in it like curl friends or cat walk

    4. flip your hair over and blow dry it scrunching your hair as it goes.

    5. when this is dine yo'll have curls all over your head--this is when you'll use the straightener. straighten half way down or to where you want the curls to start

    6. apply hairspray

    DO NOT BRUSH OR COMB!!!!
A curling iron would be best for this...to get your hair like that, start at the ends and only go halfway up, not the whole way.

It may not look right at first, but when the whole head is done,

    it will look fantastic! =]

    try it!

and as for curling hair with a straightener...that only really works with small skinny ones. But it doesnt really work that well.It wouldnt create the style you want in the picture.

But if you wanted to try it, just use it like you would use a curling iron.

i reccomend getting a curling iron, they are cheap. like 5$

    =]

    hope this helps!

You probably arent using all these things right.. for example the bendy things you are going on about, you have to leave those in your hair for about 10 hours to work.. and you have to practice using a straightner to do it a LOT before it actually works!

Use curling tongs, and read the instructions before you use them! :P

Maybe you should consider wearing your hair shorter with layers. Hair that is straight and heavy won't keep a curl for very long.

    Flat irons safe for hair?

my daughter has very curly hair and it is natural....she and her sister (only wavy hair) just bought a flat iron to straighten their hair....last night while they were using it i could smell it through the house....was this the iron i was smelling because of it being new or was this her hair burning....she has tried repeatedly over the years to straighten her hair with no luck (not even with chemical straighteners) and has now found that this works perfectly.....do i need to be concerned that she is damaging her hair?....they are 16 years old and i am not so worried about the one with wavy hair as she wont need as much contact with the iron but the one with curly hair (and i do mean finger in the light socket curly) has to really apply the heat....how bad are these things and are they designed to straighten hair that is so curly or only straighten moderate curl?....i am concerned that she will ruin her beautiful hair!Flat irons safe for hair?
The smell is indeed because the iron is new.

If you read the package you are supposed to turn the iron up to full heat and then let it just sit and burn off for about 10-15 minutes. Don't worry if you did not do that, it won't hurt anything it is just to get rid of the smell so that the smell will not be in your hair and so you won't have to smell it every time you use the iron for a week or so.

Yes! Flat irons ARE damaging to your hair. It can burn your hair if not used properly. Make sure she is getting her hair trimmed once a month. This takes off the dead ends...dead ends happen very soon because the ends are thinner therefore the heat frys them sooner. Also make sure that she is using a heat serum before flat ironing. As a professional I am not supposed to say this...but you can just it at a department store. Of course professional products are PH balanced and do not contain as much alcohol as store brands. When I say store brands I am talking about Suave, VO5, Tressemme, Dove etc. They will make her hair more dry because of not being PH balanced and the alcohol...but get her a good deep conditioner and leave in conditioner and she will be fine. If you do want to spend the money for a professional product I suggest Redken, Biolage, BedHead/Catwalk, or go to Sally's. I also highly recommend her getting a hot oil treatment every other month. Sally's will be able to help you out very much.

Here are some things you might want to look into getting (I have mentioned them throughout my answer):

Heat protector/heat serum(find one that seems to suit her needs best, such as if she flat irons every day she will want a stronger one then she will if she flat irons a few times a month) :

    http://sallybeauty.com/on/demandware.sto鈥?/a>

Deep conditioning treatment (I highly recommend this):

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Cholesterol-C鈥?/a>

    Leave in conditioner:

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Hair-Polisher鈥?/a>

Also a shampoo that is made for hair that has been exposed to flat irons is a good thing to get. Tressemme has a good one. (I actually use this myself.)

    Hot oil treatments:

Find one that works best for her. They are all very cheap.

    Flat irons safe for hair?
The smell you are smelling is the because the flat iron is new. They do give off a foul smell for the first month or so, and also when you use a lot of hairspray you will also be able to smell that as well. Flat irons do damage the hair because of the high heat. There are several things that help with the damage. Keeping your hair trimmed works to get rid of the split ends. You can also use a reconstructor to help restore the hair. I recommend Ion Repair solutions Reconstructive Treatment. Its about 8 dollars for for a decent sized bottle. Bed Head also offers products for damaged hair, such as After Party and Ego Boost! Hope this helps.
That happens when I am doing my hair also, You are smelling the hair being straighted. If you don't want to damage her hair then I would only use the flat iron once or twice a week. Also, try using some products like deep conditioners and heat protection cremes.
She'll be fine. Just make sure she's using a heat protectant first. Very important. I have Tresseme Heat protectant. Spray on before any heat and she'll be fine.
Flat irons can and will ruin your hair if you don't use them properly. You need to make sure that they aren't using the irons too much, daily being too much, but I know it's hard to tell a 16 year old not to straighten her hair. You should buy some heat protectants- the kind that you spray in your hair immediately before flat ironing it. Don't go to Walmart looking for this either, consult a professional that has the good tools to protect their hair! Also, the bangs will be the first thing to fry- have them blow-dry their bangs straight instead of putting all of that heat to them.
Well for the long run it will not be a good idea because hair is a good conductor of heat and this invariably reaches the scalp and robs the scalp of moisture. Since they are young you will not see the damage but if they use it regularly then with 3 to 5 years the texture of the hair will suffer and as years go by and they will start using hair color which will not help the situation.

Check this website which talks of having healthy hair - www.ziravie.com
My irons smell funny when they're new so thats common.I use a wet to straight iron(Remington) and I think my hair actually looks and feels more healthy when I straighten it.I only wash/straighten my hair every other day though. The natural oils are good plus it would be too much work everyday.

    Cute hairstyle ideas or websites?

christmas is coming up and i'm going to wear a super cute outfit all i need is a super cute hairstyle.

i wanted a selena gomez hair style but u need to make your hair curly but i don't have a curling iron and i don't know how to curl my hair with a flat iron. i do have Satin hair curls but they never come out rite. how long do i have to keep them in to get a not so tight but not so lose curls?Cute hairstyle ideas or websites?
dont hold to hard or to lightCute hairstyle ideas or websites?
Well I use my flat iron to straighten my hair and to curl it, but if you were to curl it then you would have to grab a portion of your hair and start from the mid. top section and curl the straightener inward and see what happens!
If you have curlers, you can put your hair in them after dampening you hair with a bit of water. Leave them in, and them when your hair is dry brush it ONCE through with a paddle brush to loosen the curls. If you can get a big barreled curling iron, that might work better. Or you could blow dry it around a circular brush. Good Luck!
I would check some hairstyles Victoria Beckham used. Surely, she is a trend setter and she has something new every time

How do you reverse major split-ends and damage to hair?

MY HAIR TYPE: very thick, volumous. It can get frizzy too. Very long, slightly past middle of my back.

DAILY STYLING ROUTINE: 1. I put on Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Daily Shampoo for a few minutes.

    2. Shampoo %26amp; Condition with Herbal Essences Citrus Lift.

    3. While in shower I put on the Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture Daily Treatment for about 3-5 minutes and rinse out.

    4. While my hair is soaked I put on John Frieda Brilliant Brunnette Shine Shock Leave-on Perfecting Gloss.

    5. After showering, I put on KIWI Leave-in Conditioner Spray Detangler %26amp; Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

    6. Sometimes Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops %26amp; S Factor Dream Drops Shine On!

    7. Sponge-rollers overnight to curl.

PAST DAMAGE CAUSES: heat-styling, flat-ironing hair everyday, even when its soaking wet, no heat-protection. unproff. bleaching for highlights. Overusing products, over 9. [stopped doing this, hair is looking better]

But I still have damaged, split ends, dry on some partsHow do you reverse major split-ends and damage to hair?
No offense but it sounds like your mom need to realize what is best for you. Seems kinda selfish of her to be that way. Even if you want to keep your hair longer, even trimming a few inches can work wonders! I am growing my hair out now, it is a little below my boobs (lol) and I recently got it trimmed because I have very bad split ends and alot of breakage, it didn't fix the problem completely but even the few inches that got trimmed made my hair less tangled and frizzy, it made my hair FEEL better also. I use alot of conditioners and hair products also but it sounds like you may be overdoing it just a little. Try to stick to one shampoo %26amp; conditioner and maybe one additional deep moisturizing thick conditioner. I have cut back to this and if you MUST heat style or use a flat iron, get a protecting spray to lock in moisture, otherwise it will just drain the moisture out of your hair that you worked so hard to keep IN your hair lol Hope this helps! How do you reverse major split-ends and damage to hair?
Wow! It sounds like you're doing way too much to your hair. It's good that you're using fewer products. You should definitely stop with most of the heat-styling, flat-ironing, etc. That and the bleaching can really do serious damage to you hair.

Try Pantene's line of products. And use the minimal amount necessary (shampoo, conditioner, and just a little styling product if needed). Pantene is wonderful for damaged hair, including split ends. Like their commercials say, ';It (better-looking hair) won't happen overnight, but it WILL happen.'; Good luck! :)
I think u exaggerate it with ur hair!!! i mean thts too much shampoo ! i don't know if u know that extra treatment is like no treatment at all ... and never believe commercials about hair repairing shampoo .. Girl ur hair need a haircut .. some trimming maybe will do the stuff ... i have kind of similar hair and when the splits begin to get worse .. god the frizz will kill u !!!
try getting your split ends trimmed off by a professional, StOP using spunge rollers if you must use rollers use the magnetic kind, and get satin pillow cases
sorry but a trim to get rid of the split ends is the only permanent answer
The only thing to do is get a haircut. There isn't anything you can do with out getting it cut but then once you get cut just make sure to put some sort of heat protection in your hair before using a hair dryer or any other heat tool.
maybe u should use that dove rebuilding shampoo
yeah, Kit Kat's right. The Dove products work on all types of hair, including African hair and there is a major difference!
try herbal Essences bad hair brake up
I'm not sure how to fix split ends without getting a trim, but I do think you're using too many hair products. The person who cuts my hair at the salon I go to said there's only so much moisture your hair can hold, so using more conditioning products isn't going to help. And I think it is possible that using so many different products could do your hair more harm than good.
the herbal essence break's over conditioner works pretty well..and i'd say just stop using a lot of products on your hair..and #1 rule is no heat styling..that includes blow drying..give you hair a break and let it air dry for a couple months. Also, getting it cut often is probably the best thing to do for your split ends. good luck !

How to get wavy or curly hair if you have really straight hair?

Braid it in sections after you wash it and after it is completely dry unbraid it.. Best to do right before bed and leave in all night .. Putting moosse in it will will help too.. do that before you braidHow to get wavy or curly hair if you have really straight hair?
    perm.
Curly - perm (its the only other way i know besides a curling iron)

    Wavy- Curl booster spray...
For a natural curl look for straight hair and you don't want to use tongs*, I would tie your hair up in a bun. When your hair has been rough dried, comb through with some serum (I recommend Nicky Clark WeatherWorks), and then tie it up in a bun. When it's dry, let it loose and voila!

    * I have very straight hair and when I use tongs, I just randomly wrap a few 1 inch sections for 10 seconds and spritz a mist in the air and walk through. (You can use tongs to do your side bangs, in the direction away from your face) It's simple!

I have curls and waves in my hair from a french braid plus a curling iron. I want it to be pretty and curly tomorrow too. What can I do with it overnight to keep most of the curls and waves in my hair and keep it from getting to flat? Should I braid it again or do something else? How to curl hair or give waves to straight hair at home?

    Hey

I was hoping you could tell me how to curl my hair at home, like before I got for a party or something. Light curls, nothing very flashy or anything. Probably just a few really nice waves (my hair's realllllllllly straight and I've always wondered how it'd look with a few waves).

    Something like this -

I also have a flat-iron which doubles as a perming iron but I don't think that's help here right? I don't have any one to help me either, its just going to be me doing it however I can.

Well I have naturally straight hair too and it sucks! My hair never curled, scrunched, waved, anything! But I found a solution. I buy curl enhancing products, which work amazingly! When i scrunch my hair, I buy curl enhancing mousse, and when i curl my hair I buy curl enhancing hairspray! I would try curl enhancing products. They really do work, and I love them :) My hair stays curled for the whole day without going flat!

So my hair is about an inch or two below my shoulders and pretty hard to style. When i straighten it, it just goes wavy, and when i try to curl it, it either goes out of control, or just looks really flat/wavy and dull. It is very very very thick and really frizzy and poofy. it's flat against my head and then gets wider and frizzier as it goes down. The bottom half of my hair is tight ringlet curly, and then the top layers are just a frizzy half wavy. It's really hard to explain.

Straightening takes FOREVER. like really, it takes me about two hours, and i dont like my hair straight. it's just not me. So i tried curling it with a curling iron.... yeah. not working. it turns out pretty, but it takes too long, and the curls fall out so easily no matter how much hairspray or whatever products i use. Curling it with a flat iron also doesn't work. It just pulls on my head and doesn't even curl my hair. Scrunching my hair just gets it way too out of control. Hot rollers dont work either. and i have tried putting in curlers at night, the bobby pin curls technique, and the bun on my head. they all dont work!!!!

I just want to get the cute messy loose curls look, and i have spent a lot of time trying to achieve it. And i really want to find a way. If you could tell me what videos to watch or what to do step by step that would help!!!!

THANKS!!!!How do i get my hair in messy curls with short/medium length hair?
idkHow do i get my hair in messy curls with short/medium length hair?
Ok, so I think the book, ';Curly Girl'; by Lorraine Massey would REALLY help you. It is a LIFE SAVER!!! I have the same problem as you, and my hair is crazy, out of control and girl you better believe curly curly! It gives you tips on making your hair beautifully curly all the time. I REALLY advise you buy it. You can get it from Amazon for about 15-ish bucks.

    General tips for curly/wavy hair:

    1. NEVER brush it when it's dry

    2. You HAVE to use a leave in conditioner/gel when it is dry to keep it from being frizzy, it's the only way

    3. Buy a curl definer, it will define your curls, so you don't have a wavy mess

    4. Only shampoo at the max 3 times a week (shampooing strips your hair of it's natural oils and nutrients). Condition a lot every day.

*Fun Fact- your hair gets 15% thicker when it's humid*

I know what you mean about the straightening, it looks pretty but it just doesn't feel like me.

    Good luck!

  • How to I style my shoulder length hair?

OK, here is the scoop: I have one-length hair just past my shoulders. I have bangs, just normal run on the mill bangs. My hair is mostly straight, just a slight wave to it. Medium thickness. It is healthy with little damage. I try to avoid using blow dryers, curling irons, and flat irons because I want to keep it healthy.

I only have a little time in the mornings to style my hair. I am an elementary school teacher, and I need a quick, easy professional hair style. I'd like to keep my length so I can clip my hair back on occasion. But as it is, its very boring.

Any suggestions for a new hair style or cut?How to I style my shoulder length hair?
make sure its layered, because then...you can have a shower, towel dry it, brush it and you wouldn't have to do much else with it, it would sit nicely all on its own...of course a little colour...perhaps some hair clips or a flower in your hair would set it off nicely...layered hair always sits really well..up or down...How to I style my shoulder length hair?
Perhaps have a stylist cut some layers in the back and take a few inches off, and around your your face.
razor cut bob would look great. it would add movement and texture.

styling would be a breeze. just a bit of styling wax ( a light one.) on the ends and you're done. or a bit of styling spray for texture and definition.
Maybe you could get layers cut into your hair? if you find your hair boring and want to change it up a bit, then you could also just go for a different color with the aid of dye. if you continue to keep away from flat irons, curlers, and other forms of hair torture, then the dye really won't sacrifice the health of your hair to any extreme.

I'd have dozens of other suggestions, except you said that you're an elementary school teacher and need a professional style, so..

    good luck ^^;

Hair question 10 pts to best answer!?

If i straighten my hair with a flat iron then use a curling iron to curl it how long will the curls stay in?Hair question 10 pts to best answer!?
if you use both heated stylers, you're probably causing tons of damage to your hair, some of which can be prevented by a heat shielding product, but not all.

i would highly recommend just using your flat iron to curl your hair. i believe conair currently makes a 2-in-1 straightener/curling iron that you could invest in if you're able to spend some money. otherwise, i use my straightener to curl my hair- it achieves the same look as a curling iron, whether i just want to turn the ends under or do complete ringlet curls, and i find that curling my hair with a flat iron makes the style last longer to begin with. it's very simple: style your hair in small sections like you normally would, but twist your wrist and rotate the straightener to achieve your desired curl. the more you twist the straightener, the curlier your hair will be. finish by misting your style with hair spray! (this technique takes a little getting used to, so i would recommend practicing a couple times to experiment with different angles/curl size.) good luck!Hair question 10 pts to best answer!?
It depends on your hair type. If you have naturally thick, course, wavy, or curly hair, they will last a long time.

If you naturally have thin and/or straight hair, they will fall out soon inless you use a curling serum, mousse, or hairspray.

Also it is not that good of an idea to use a straightener then a curling iron. Too much heat at once. It will fry and damage your hair over time. But remember, anytime you apply heat to your hair... use a heat protectant spray.
for me they stay in for about an hour! :)
it depends if you use hairspray =]

it might stay curled for about 9 hours.

    just the tips right??
It all depends if your hair is thick or thin. If it's thick I would put moose in before you do anything, but not to much or you will have knots all day! Than a little gel and after you straighten or curl it than add some hairspray. My hair is very heavy and wavy, but it never stays unless I do a bunch of things to it. Get shampoo and other hair stuff in curling/ scrunching form to help.
I would think that if you did not straight iron your hair it would hold better... I think if you iron it first you may make it too smooth to hold any curl.... if you spay then curl then spray again it should hold you could even put some product like mousse os gel in it while it's wet...
I have medium thick hair and the curls last me most the day. So thats about 8-10 hours.
Use some heat protecion spray. It makes your hair stonger and healthier, and wont get as much heat damage. I would consider it if you used a straitener AND curling iron. And then just put a little hairspray in and it should be fine. My friend hairsparys her hair a lot, and she has a travel sized hairspray can that she keeps in her purse, and if she looks in the mirror and her hair is going flat, or something, she just sprays it on. Its easy!

    Hope I helped! =)
well it all depends on your hair type just remember to use heat protection when straightning or curling your hair
It depends on wat products u use in it but most of the time mine only stay in 4 a week and that's if i wrap it and put rollers in it if u dont it will only stay in 4 like a day or 2.

How can i crimp curly hair?

I have really frizzy, thick, curly hair. I always wanted to crimp my hair. I have look up ways but they never focus on girls with curly hair. So what would the best way be. I also have an instyler so that is me curling iron and flat iron. Should I buy another flat iron or something else? How can i crimp curly hair?
i have curly hair too. you should straighten it with a flat iron first, then crimp it. otherwise you may get frustrated trying to simply crimp your curls. also, wash it first and dont put any product in it. it's best if the hair is free/ clean from gel/ hairspray/ mousse, etc.How can i crimp curly hair?

I had ';Afro'; hair, the kind that no matter how relaxer cream I put it still came out the same. my friend told me to go to the salon, relax my hair %26amp; have them straighten it whilst my hair is half dry. Did that %26amp; now I have nice straight, strong, long %26amp; silky hair.

You should try it %26amp; make sure that when they stretch your hair, they take small amounts of hair that way, they won't miss any curly hair.

    Good luck.!
Lol You should first straighten your hair with this stuff called silk therepy, it comes in a clear bottle, but it on each layer of hair your goiin to streighten, then streighten it , then crimp it, so you dont damage your hair...

If you dont have $ for slik therapy, then use a leave in conditioner spray :)

    hope this helps
You would straiten it First, but use a heat protectant spray or gel or whatever and some kind of leave in hair conditioner so that your hair wont increase in Frizzy-ness. It would probably take you a while because you have a lot and curly hair, but Im sure it will look good after all the time and effort is put into it!
well even if you have a instylerl, you wont be able to crimp your hair.

    try a different FLAT iron.

no rounded rotating iron, get a flat ironn.

    try something like a chi.

    :P hope it helps.
straighten it first, then crimp it. make sure you have agood crimper though, if it's cheap chances are it wont work that well, good luck and dont forget the hairspray!
    straighten your hair!

I need help with my hair for tomorrow?

Alright, I start school tomorrow but I'm only going in to get my schedule, then I'm leaving... but I still want my hair to look cute. For 10 minutes I don't want to curl my hair, I need to leave rollers in over night or do it like 3 hours before school starts so the curls hold. And when I flat iron my hair, it's flat... I have no volume, and I really don't like teasing my hair. I've tried a root boster and it didn't work. :(

If this helps I have dark brown hair, vibrant green eyes. Tomorrow for my makeup, I'm wearing a white shadow, with brown in the crease. Blend the brown in until it's not noticeable i guess. For my highlight I'm doing this shade that reminds me of buttered popcorn. Mascara, maybe i will line my lip lip with gel liner, but I don't like wearing eyeliner, so yea... A nude lip. A peachy colour blush... I'm going into my senior year I guess you could say. Well yeah... Any ideas how I should do my hair.

p.s i kind of want it straight I've had my hair wavy everyday the past 2 weeks.I need help with my hair for tomorrow?

Who the hell cares about your hair? Put it in a pony tail and call it a day
Lol, thats wierd, I go in to go get my schedule too tomorrow

that would be wierd if i knew you
why dont you just brush it for a little bit and put a clip in or put it up.
Then Do it straight. If that's what you want.

I think Curly short hair looks cute but go for what ever feels right for you. xD

have your bangs out and pull your hair into a low ponytail without the band

then twist the ponly tail and flip it so its up like the tail is against your head

    then secure with a clip.

take a straightener to your bangs to flip under.

    you'll look so cute!
You say that you are going to go pick up your schedule? Thats it?... enough said.
What I think would be really cute is wavy hair. All I do when I want my hair wavy is braid it the night before in medium sections. But only put a hair ty at the bottom. If you put it up top then your hair will be poofy. I hope this helps. But if it doesn't sorry.
ok you said it would only be for about ten minutes so why not...its not like it can go flat in ten min. right? but if your leaning towards straight go with that one
do it super straight like u just had japanese straightening done i think straight hair makes people look more mature
Lol coming from a boy but try straight hair with a bit of mascara and you should be fine. remember to smile.

Im 16 and I start college soon and im worried about how i look too lol

Email or add me me if you have any ideas for a boy rory90210@hotmail.co.uk

    Rory
well straighten it and then pin the front back into a poof thing. that will make the front have volume and it looks cute.
what does it matter about your hair looking good if all ur doing is getting ur schedule then leaving. it's kinda stupid to have a whole hairdo planned for just that. but i guess do what emily jo said. her idea sounded good.
You are waaaaayyyy too vain girl. I agree with Mary W. get over yourself and be real!
i say wash your hair the morning of, then blow dry it neatly and nicely, that way you get a lot of volume and it's really soft and fluffy.

then if you need to, you can straighten it just a tiny bit, like just the end, like only an inch because if you do the rest, like you said, it will get really flat. and if you have bangs, do not straighten them, it looks so much better if they are blow dried and flowy.

    hope that helps.

you're hair is plenty long enough to do that to it I do it all the time and my hair is only a little longer than yours you must have a very good straightener I have the Chi ( which is only about and inc wide) it's what the pros use and my stylist is the one who taught me how to do it......okay so put the hair in the straightener just like you would if you were going to straighten it then flip the hair backward over the straightener and continue to turn the straightener as you pull down be gentle because it can hurt also be patient it takes practice. Spray a little hair spray all over run your fingers through it a little and your done......oh and this looks better if your hair is layered and it will be easier. Oh also put your hair in to section with clips start at the bottom and work your way up take a little out of the clip each time maybe and inch wide you'll get the feel for it when you do your own hair!! Have Fun!!
    You should striaght it!!

So my hair likes to curl like no other when i get out of the shower, how do i keep it from doing so?

I straighten it with a flat iron, but then it still likes to curl. so tlel me what i should do pleaseSo my hair likes to curl like no other when i get out of the shower, how do i keep it from doing so?
If you want to straighten your hair right out of the shower, i suggest doing the following...Put a primer or thermal styling protectant in it ( something you put in it before you blow dry it flat iron or use a curling iron)...Take a BIG, FLAT ( usually called a paddle) brush and straighten it with the blow dryer first...after your hair is dry, THEN, S-L-O-W-L-Y run a straightening iron through it following with a comb directly after the iron so that it styles flat for you...finish with a LIGHT coat of hair spray. So my hair likes to curl like no other when i get out of the shower, how do i keep it from doing so?
tie your hair up with a silk bandana or scarf berfore you get in the shower.
gte it premantantley straightened , practically every hair dresser does it now , and it lasts a couple months. the cost varies from how long your hair is ..
You need to get a haircut that will let your hair curl. Just give up and remember that lots of people in the world love curly hair and its usually the ones with straight hair. You can try some mousse or gel for hard to hold hair. I have curly hair and it is tamed using Frizz Ease by John Frieda. It doesn't stop the curl but makes my hair softer and less curly.

How can I restore my hair?

I flat iron my hair at least 6 days a week with the original Chi flat iron. I do use a heat protectant but it still makes the ends of my hair split and damaged. I just bought the Chi flat iron spray to spray on my hair, so I finally invested in a good spray. Anyway, my hair has been really really dry lately and i notice sometimes when I comb my hair after getting out of the shower that a lot of hair comes out. Sometimes it's only 6 strands and sometimes it'll be about 15 strands. I bought the Joico Moisture stuff today, also. I only wash my hair every other day. I have told myself that I'm only going to straigten 2 times a week now, or less. I also color my hair. My thing is, I have naturally straight, flat hair ... if I attempt to use a curling iron, I look like I have 80s hair... what can I use to style my hair to make it look decent and what else can I do to help my hair get back to it's thick, healthy prettiness? How can I restore my hair?
Okay I had the EXACT same problem. I use Tressemme Anti split ends shampoo and conditioner. This helped me SO much. Also, try your hardest to not comb your hair after you shower. That's when your hair is most prone to breakage. Try to condition your hair from your ears down, not your scalp. And after shampoo and conditioning, rinse with cold water, the colder the better. Your hair is probably also lacking in shine, so use a shine spray. For the curling problem, don't use curling irons, use sleep in curls. They work alot better. And to restore your hair, I would try to straighten it less, pick ONE color instead of a billion different colors to try and remember to not dye your hair more then once every 1 or 2 months. Maybe try a little mousse for thickness as well.

:)How can I restore my hair?
You can use deep conditioners for Treating damaged hair, twice a week, no more or it will get greasy. There are products that are for split ends like Rediken Anti Snap ( its a little pricy but its worth it). ANd for now, use restraine your self from using blow dryers, curling irons, and flat irons for a while. ther eare lots of cute styles that you can do with out having to damage your hair. Like a plain ponytail, pigtails, side ponytail, clip it up, messy bun, braids, experiment a little while until it gets healthy again.
try to use deep conditioners and hot oil once a week.

and leave in conditioner once every day you shower, just dont rince.

one leave in treatment that is REALLY good its the ';Sebastian Potion 9'; it has a lot of vitamins and nutrients in 2 weeks you'll see results i promise,

i straightne my hair everyday and my hair is break free!!

try it, its about 10-15 bucks depends where you get it.
use pantene shampoo.. there is a kind where it restores your damaged hair, and there is another kind of pantene that gets ride of split ends. hope this helped!
The Chi kerain mist makes your hair feel a lot better. Spray it on after you straighten your hair (if you have to straighten it) and brush it through. You could get a different straightener with heat settings (I don't believe chis have that option). Use the lowest temperature that still makes your hair straight. After you blow dry your hair blast it with cool air from the blowdryer if it has the option. It seals the cuticle and makes the hair smooth down. Does your hair look horrible if you wash it and don't straighten it (I personally think mine does)? If you can stand it, don't straighten it.

If you are African American and you wash your hair every other day, you are drying it out. Roll your hair and use a brush to comb it out so that it's not too big. As you can see the reason your hair is breaking is because you flat iron it TOO MUCH!

My sister!! Is it frizzy too? Use John Frieda's Frizzease products. Try ';Refresh'; conditioner, extra strength serum after washing, when your hair is soaking wet (that's important), and the ';Secret Weapon'; for touch ups on dry hair. Shine, baby shine!!! My hair has never been so shiney!! I swear by all this stuff, it's inexpensive (get it at Target), and it really keeps curl going too.

When you wind the hair up on the iron, the parts closest to your head get the least amount of heat. I gave up on those.

Have you ever set your hair? Rolled it into curlers (the pink foamy ones that TV grannies made famous) after you wash it and let it dry? Usually overnight? Before you remove the curlers, spray very lightly with a product called ';Frozen Stiff';. Get it at beauty supply stores, it is an ultra hold that makes your hair, well, ';frozen stiff';. Then take the curlers out. Gently seperate the curls and arrange as you desire.

I have white girl hair, so if you don't, I have no idea what will curl your hair. Still, try Frizzease. Works like a charm. How can i keep curls in my hair?? see details plz?

well it's a good thing you protect your hair from heat. Use Mane 'n Tail shampoo and conditioner. It was fetured in 17 magazine to make your hair softer and shiner. It's proven to make your hair grow a little faster. But don't think its a miricle. If your hair grows 1/4-1/2 in. in 1 month thats really fast. At 1st i thought it was pet shampoo but i was wrong. So don't think this is a joke. lol. Don't brush your hair 100 times a day or in the shower while wet. This makes you bald. hope it helps
Must Keep it Clean and Brush it many times per day.

Emo's new short hair cut and new fashions??

Bobs and short haircuts for women made their debut in the 1920s and were greeted with raised eyebrows and allegations of scandal. Since then, bobs and short haircuts for women have become permanent fashion fixtures and are here to stay. Bobs and short haircuts can be quite easy to manage and can look appropriate for any occasion, depending on how they are shaped and styled.

The classic bob was a blunt cut that made the hair the same length as the ears all around (except the front, of course) with a hint of curl formed by old-fashioned curlers. Today, there are as many bobs and short haircuts as there are types of women who wear them, and the famous bob has evolved to fit almost every fashion requirement.

Styling bobs and short haircuts can be quite simple, since there is less hair to work with. However, trying an unfamiliar style also has its challenges, and sometimes patience and trial and error are required before creating the perfect look.

? For a classic, blunt bob, make the hair straight all around, and ask the stylist for bangs. Using gel, comb your wet hair straight as you blow dry. Spray it well.

? For a Pageboy bob: Use a wide-barrelled curler and curl the back of your hair and bangs under. Wait for the curls to cool, and brush gently, encouraging the large curls, with a large, round brush. Spray well.

? For a flip bob: If you like the mostly straight bob with a little flip in or out at end, use a flat iron to make most of your hair straight, and make your hair flip in or flip out at the ends by twisting inch wide sections around the flat iron.

? Kinky bob: If you do not have naturally curly hair, create curls using wacky curlers or by using a narrow-barrelled curling iron. Leave the curlers in your hair for at least a half and hour and blow your hair dry, or, using a curler, wind your hair around the iron in one-inch wide sections. Use a pick to arrange your curls and spray well.

? Layered Bob: If your hair is layered, and you would like a soft, natural looking bob, rinse out your conditioner well and work mousse through your wet hair. Dry well, using your fingers to style your hair and twist some strands of hair for extra wave.

? Super glossy bob: This look is great for formal events. Use shampoo and conditioner specially designed to bring out the sheen in your hair. Sculpt wet hair with gel and brush straight. Blow dry on a low setting, and finish with a hair spray that will make your hair very shiny.

? Super short bob: Paris Hilton sported this bob shortly before getting her hair sheared. This bob requires very little maintenance. The hair should be cropped close to the face. Use a little mousse to give the hair a bit of volume. You needn't worry about making the bob very curly or very straight, since this is a natural looking hairdo. Simply use mousse, coax your hair into the desired style with a brush as you blow it dry.

? Emo bob: Although emo's claim to ignore fashion, the bob has hit even the emo crowd. Cut your hair into a blunt cut with scissors. Don't worry if the ends are not exactly even. Dye your hair black and add red or frosted highlights if you wish.

Bobs and short haircuts can create a very ';sweet'; look. A short haircut that has as much sass and elegance as a bob is the ';pixie'; look. This hairstyle is great if you have an oval face and want soft bangs that emphasize your eyes. The back is cut in the shape of a wedge, and more hair is left at the top. The bangs can be curled under or combed straight. A little curl is quite feminine and brings out the eyes.Emo's new short hair cut and new fashions??

Clamp the iron around the top of your hair and hold the chi vertically, pull it through. It's kind of hard to describe online..just practice! CHI doubles as the best curling iron :)

I have a 1'; chi flat iron i paid 120.00 for it and?

it doesn't have temperature control on it and it gets like 350 degrees and i'm trying to curl my hair with it which i dont believe is safe. how do i curl my hair with it without the lines from the flat iron. can you give me steps. i looked on you tube but they make it look so easy and without the lines. please help.I have a 1'; chi flat iron i paid 120.00 for it and?
lesson learned. always get temperature control.I have a 1'; chi flat iron i paid 120.00 for it and?
Just keep the iron moving. When you clamp it and hold it in place, it causes the lines or creases. Chi irons do get extremely hot, so you need to keep it moving or it can cause damage. Also, make sure you use a good thermal protectant spray. If your hair is thicker, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum is excellent.

    Please help!!! Hair Help!! QUICK!!?

Okay so i'm going to this party today and im going to see friends i havent seen in a very long time. i really want to blow my wavy hair straight and then flat iron it, but whenever i do that it always looks boring and not full of volume. i thinks its the way im blow drying it. any ways how to blow dry it to show my layers and volume???? please include websites with steps if possible!!! and i also maybe wanted to try to blow my hair out straight and then curl it with my 1'; curling iron. like i'd part my hair in the middle then curl the hair surrounding my face so the curls are facing outward. Kind of like the way blake lively does her hair for example. Please help with either question!!!!Please help!!! Hair Help!! QUICK!!?
For volume, wet your hair then flip your head upside down when you blow dry.

Straight, semi-thin hair-how to curl w/ no iron?

My hair looks like my avatar's, no side-bang though. I do not own a straightener, and I'm not about to go and buy one! I've tried braids but the waves go flat over the day, even with hairspray. my hair is about 2 inches past the shoulder. Help!Straight, semi-thin hair-how to curl w/ no iron?
To curl your hair with no iron you can...Dampen your hair, put rollers in it, spritz hair spray on it, blow dry it for awhile and then take the rollers out. That should work. Good luck.

How can i make my hair curl without using heat or rollers?

I have about 10 or 11 inches of hair, and its relaxed, but i get very mild relaxers. i multi racial, so my hair isnt super corse but its not thin either. when i wet my hair it has natural curls from the middle to the back of my head, but the front half is so weird it curls from the root to about 3 to 5 inches down, but the ends are completely straight. the curl is not super silky its frizzy and if you comb it out to much its a complete bush. Its summer and my hair needs a break from the flat iron, so i would like to wear my hair with its natural curl. please dont suggest cutting it , cause its not happening. please help me!!!How can i make my hair curl without using heat or rollers?
Try mixing some sea salt with boiling water and putting it in a spray bottle and then just spraying your damp or dry hair with it then air drying. it sound work well. =)How can i make my hair curl without using heat or rollers?

use pink lotion....all mah mixed friends with that kinda hair use it and it curls their hair and makes it look like its wet all day but its not :]
try a curling syrum but you will need to scrunch and blow dry so it will require heat. hair doesn't curl without heat unless it's natural.

    Boy Hair straightening help.......???!!!?

HI im a 14 year old boy and i have long brown luscious hair. My best friends think i straighten my hair even tho i dont. My other friends mom always talks to me about straightening hair cuz she thinks i straighten my hair too. I sort of kno wat im talking about when i talk to her about this and she gives me advice for my hair which is really nice of her. When i was at her sons house, her and her son wanted to straighten my hair with her Chi flat iron and i was flattered and once again i wanted to say yes so badly but i chickened out.

The only possible way to hide the fact that you straighten your hair is to hide your straightener from your parents.

When getting a straightener, I don't really think it matters what kind you get, as long as you know how to use it. Chi ones are nice, but can be fairly expensive. Ones that use ions are pretty expensive too. Though they're high quality, they can still damage and destroy your hair-- so before straightening your lucious locks, make sure you buy a heat protectant spray. It'll keep your hair from being destroyed.

Since you're a guy with long hair, and guy's hair typically gets super thick when it's longer... You're going to want to part your hair into two different layers-- the top layer, and the bottom layer. Straighten the bottom layer first, then once you achieve the straightness you desire, start on the top. That way, ALL of your hair will be straight and sleek-- and not just some of it.

A Chi or bed head or my two most fav straighteners. and personally its hard to tell you how to do your hair without showing you. i would say let someone do your hair for you and teach you as you do it. and about the family thing.. hide the straightener and make sure not to burn your hair
You need to get over it.

You're probably not the only one of your friends that straightens their hair. Most of the guys I know with hair long enough to do so, do.
Right well firstly im a lad and i straighten my hair every single day and im 17 haha! you shouldnt be embaressed of it, be proud that you care about how you look.

ive been straightening my hair for about 2 years and NOBODY has ever took the mick out of me for doing it because it shows i care about my appearance.

And I strongly recommend mega thin straighteners for boys because Ive tryed both and with thin ones i can style it just how i like it down to details haha :-)

Once you have you straighteners its easy

1)Make sure your hair isnt wet at all.

2)use a comb to grab the hair your going to straighten.(or hands)

3)when the straighteners are at full tempreture put your straighteners on the hair and start from slighty above the root of your head(enough so it doesnt burn) to the end of your hair.

4)simply continue to do this until you get the right result of how you wanted your hair to look.

5)apply hairspray if you want to as this will 'hold' the style youve just created :)

    Hope ive helped :)
well buy one of those good straighteners they might b expensive but theyre really good and wont damage ur hair and well if u need help on how to straighten it then all u have to do is get clips and get small sections and just get the straightener and do that all over ur hair until u get it the way u want it simple as that if u want to protect ur hair from the straightener u can always buy flat ironing products like at walmart or something theyre pretty cheap and well dont be embarrased to get it straightened if u like to i personally think guys with straight hair look really hot and kind of spiky long well not super long but like to their ears sort of like skater dudes i dont know if uve ever noticed them though and well ur family shud understand if u want to do this with ur hair but if they dont then well just keep ur things hidden in ur room and idk wear a hoodie or cap around them so they wont know u did that but good luck anyways and do wat u like not wat others want and dont chicken out if u really want to do it

    answer mine plz

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
very long question about straightening ... okay.

    well anyway what you need:

it would be good to have CHI protection spray but that's optional to protect your hair from being damaged by heat.

A CHI straightener would be good preferable 2'; inches.

and it would be easier if you straighten your hair yourself. don't get other to ppl to do it for you. don't worry just be careful and you won't burn yourself and then it's pretty easy.

if you wanna hide the fact, do it in private. and if your parents are like wow. that's really straight then just be like yeah, i dk why maybe this is just natural.

if they'd believe that, then you're good.

hide the straightener at all times. btw they're your family, who gives a crap what they think? i would be more worried about your friends thinking bad stuff.

and didn't you say they think you straighten your hair already.? seems like your hair's pretty straight. remember StRAIGHTENING HAIR CAN DAMAGE IT GIRLS ONLY DO IT TO IMPRESS GUYS%26lt; BUT IF YOUR HAIR IS PRETTY STRAIGHT ALREADY PLZ DON'T BOTHER!!!

believe me, HEAT KILLS THE HAIR!!!

Okay sweetie! Bree is here to help!

First of all you need to buy a straightener. In the price range of 40-80 dollars are the best kind to buy. (yes I know it's expensive =[)

Okay, while you're out, but leave in conditioner. So that way your hair won't frizz or fry. Also but a heat protecting spray! That is a major thing to buy! Okay. Now that you have what you need, here are the steps...

    1. Wash your hair and put in the leave in conditioner while wet.

    2. Blow dry your hair. (never straighten wet even if your straightener can!)

    3. Pull half of your hair up with a hair tie.

    4. Spray the heat spray on the lower half.

    5. Straighten the lower half.

    6. Let down the rest of your hair.

    7. Spray the remaining hair with heat spray.

    8. Straighten remaining hair.

    9. YOU ARE DONE!

Oh, and to help hiding it from your parents...hmm just keep all the items in your room. In a drawer preferably. That should keep them from finding it. Oh! If they look through your drawers, then put all the supplies under clothes.

    I really hope I helped!

If you have anymore questions, email me.

  • How To Curl My Hair ?

Im 12 And iReally Want To Curl My Hair For The First Time Juss For Show At School .

iHave Longer Hair In Between Wavy And Straight , Below My Shoulders And Its Kinda Hard With A Thick Roller(All i Have Is That And A Thick Flat Iron)To Hold Up ';Heavy'; Hair.

Are There Any Ways To Do So Quickly ?How To Curl My Hair ?
Buy some good quality curling irons and use hairspray to keep the curls in your hair for longer. Alternatively try a curl spray for example Garnier Curl Shaping Gel Spray: http://fructis.garnier.ca/en/product_fs.鈥?/a> because this won't damage your hair like curling irons can sometimes do (the heat from them can dry your hair up so it won't feel very pleasant)How To Curl My Hair ?
i don't think you can curl your hair with a flat iron either get some rollers or get a hair curler =] x.

An iron that does Curling and straightening both?

hi, i've seen so many youtube videos on how to curl your hair with a flat iron with rounded edges. ex: http://www.amazon.com/Remington-Sleek-Cu鈥?/a> (remington sleek and curl)

I can't seem to find it at my nearest target. but walmart has something similar http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d鈥?/a> (remingto professional hair straightener)

i only want to get it if it works for both straightening and curling.... can anybody out there help me or tell me if it'll work on curling? thank you!!!An iron that does Curling and straightening both?
You can get a con-air curling iron. It's round edges like a curling iron but in the middle it opens to a flat iron. There really inexpensive you can get them from a sally, target, walmart,t j max. Its like $20.An iron that does Curling and straightening both?
Look for a thin barrel, all hair straighteners can curl hair, its the way you use them that will make the curls, not the straightener itself, it only provides the heat.

GHDs are the industry standard but are not cheap and many others will work :)
it def works, I have the Chi iron which is expensive but its worth it.. i actually got it on ebay for cheaper
Any flat iron that is one of those skinny ones will curl or straight.
i use my chi to both straighten and curl my hair

Can someone good with hair help me out?

So I'm not to great with hair. But sometimes I let my friend do it. She's curled it twice, once with a curling iron, once with a flat iron. My hair is shoulder length with a lot of layers, but because it's really thick, I always end up with crazy Shirley Temple curls. How can I get the pretty loose curls that girls wear to school? THANKS (:Can someone good with hair help me out?
start with thinning your hair out. you can get thinning sheers at your local sallys. then use a flat iron with little to no product. if your hair is dry try using a conditioning like oil on your hair. if it is oily try not using conditioner. also. try starting the curl by your ear. with a thicker iron. or for the more messy waves. allow your hair to be wet up in a pony tail. let it down like an hour before you are going somewhere. and just add a little mouseCan someone good with hair help me out?
    Scrunch it!

Or only curl the ends, not all the way up to the top, and volumize the top using a boar-bristle brush and hairspray.
    scrunch it

How can I get my curls to stay in my hair?

My hair is naturally straight, and I curl it with a flat iron. How do I keep those curls from straightening out after a couple hours? How can I get my curls to stay in my hair?
THIS WILL BE PERFECT FOR YOU! Try this product by pantene! http://www.pantene.com/en-US/product/curls_curllockhairsprayflexholdnonaerosol.jspxHow can I get my curls to stay in my hair?
Spritz a small amount of light hairspray on your hair before curling it. Then use a freezing spray after you are done styling. Also try using a sulfate free or curling shampoo. Avoid products that contain silicone or other ingredients ending with -cone because they can weigh your hair down and pull the curl out faster. I know you said your hair is naturally straight but check out this site for products and info on keeping curls www.naturallycurly.com

I've also read somewhere to avoid products labeled as humectants because they can sometimes weigh fine hair down.
heat protect spray works really for me i use chi straight guard you can buy it at target

i also really like biolage by matrix and i just get that at my salon (my neighbor)

    http://www.matrixbeautiful.com/products/鈥?/a>

p.s. if you are using suave shampoo and conditioner that maybe be part of the problem
haha ok listen, I got a perm. That's a great alternative too..but anyway, If I were you, I'd curl it at night, then mouse it up, then use special gell for curly hair, then clip it up, hairspray it and sleep on it and Voila =] curls out to wazu!

You have 2 questions on here.....Seventeen's method is spiral curling...

the hair is spiral curled.....they do have actual spiral curling irons and the way a spiral works is the hair is placed differently on the curling rod.....if curling with a syling product still doesn't work, you could try spiraling it on those hot sticks (benders) that are like curlers but long and skinny.

Go to a good salon and see if a stylist there can do it and show you how it's done.

To me waving is more like Madonna's or Fergies

some people don't like her or her hair but in my opinion she is adorable and her hair is beautiful. Braiding will get a wavy look....pretty but not the same

Just remember she has top stylists coloring and styling her hair

When is it safe to flat iron a perm?

How long should I wait to flat iron my perm? I know it sounds silly wanting to straighten it after I just got it - but on one hand I just got the perm to give my hair body so I want to wear it striaght but retain the volume I get with the curls.. but I also want the option of leaving it curly. If I flat iron it, will it flatten my curls for good- or is it a chemicla thing, it doesnt matter? Other perm tips? When is it safe to flat iron a perm?
wait 3-5 days. if u dont wait, it wont get rid of the curls, it will just damage ur hair. make-sure to apply hair serums especially made to prevent hair damage when using hot hair appliances. When is it safe to flat iron a perm?
wait at least 3 days .then flatten all u want.

    variety is good.
i waited a week, but it doesnt hurt it. it may damage your hair a little bit and cause it to dry out so be sure to condition it good when you do.
doesnt matter. but not too much because it can cause damage
I get perms just to have more body to my hair too, actually. It's perfectly fine to iron down your curls! I do it every morning, especially now that my curls are starting to grow out. The curls may eventually lose a little definition but not so much that is makes an outrageous difference. The worst that will happen is they will just become more ';wavy'; than ';curly';. Good luck with ironing!
How long since the perm? Give it a few days rest then go crazy with the flat iron. Be sure to get a heat protectant spray that is for chemically treated hair. Flat ironing your hair after such a traumatic process as a perm could really dry your hair out. Make sure to get shampoo and conditioner (professional is best) that is for dyed or chemically treated hair. You want to make sure your hair doesn't fall out. Drink lots of water, take vitamins, maybe wash your hair every other day, and your hair will be just fine!

    How can i permanently smooth?

I have naturally curly frizzy out of control hair. I have become pretty good at styling hair for the simple fact that if I wasn't my hair would be nuts. My problem is that it takes a lot of time to do anything with my hair because to flat iron or curl it with a curling iron or hot curlers or anything i have to blow dry it relatively straight first or it won't work out. Does anyone know anyways to smooth out my hair permanently or in a more timely way so that it is ready to be styled? How can i permanently smooth?
there's this lady in my aerobic class that told me to get a perm and then buy a wide toothed comb and comb it out.. now whether or not that works and I really don't know how it would... I have naturally curly hair, but I have always had it chemically straightened. IT is costly in the salons but I was fortunate to have a friend who was a hair dresser do it out of her home.

In answer to the first response you got, if I washed it at night and let it dry overnight, it be one ugly mess ( bird's nest ) in the morning. I don't recommend that..

The only thing that comes across is that you need to find a product that would smooth out your hair. When you find that product, let me know. I no longer have the girl to do my hair and they salons water down their products too much for it to work in my hair. plus their expensive.

Good luck..How can i permanently smooth?
i use paul mitchell smooth serum for the frizz, it works really well. also i shower at night so i go to bed with my hair kinda wet and i think that helps with the frizz a bit too

How do I get rid of the burnt scent from my hair after I heat style it?

I rarely heat style my hair. The natural look suits me just fine. However when I do use heat styling(flat iron and curling irons) i am left with a burnt smell. I do use good quality devices to do my hair as well. And I do apply heat protectants. Can anyone help me? I would like the opinions of those that are familiar with african american hair. Thank you! I would love product recommendations as well. How do I get rid of the burnt scent from my hair after I heat style it?
Don't heat style in the first place. How do I get rid of the burnt scent from my hair after I heat style it?
Perfume!!!!!!!! The smell is so annoying, I know, so I always put perfume in my hair and it covers up the smell
If your hair is smelling burnt you probably need to turn down your curling iron. My hair is really frizzy sometimes so I thought it would take a lot of heat, but now I use a lower setting and ceramic and I dont have that smell anymore. Lightly spraing your hair with oil sheen b/f styling helps and as for products Doo Gro is my fav. They have a really light oil that is really good. I usually dont put oils or grease in my hair but this one is light enough to just make hair shine. Hope this helps.

    iron?

How to get straight hair curly WITH mainly just product?

Ok so Curling with a flat iron; actual curling iron; rollers takes for ever of which i don't have time. Does applying moose to straight damp hair make it curly if i would scrunch it and hold it in place with clips? And then remove the clips when dry and brush with a wide tooth com?How to get straight hair curly WITH mainly just product?
Yeahhh, that should work. But don't put too much mousse. That never looks good.

A ';how to curl your hair'; question!?

what is a good product to use on your hair if its mid back (like to bra strap) and dyed.

I was told to use leave in conditioner or some heat protectant spray. But I don't know which one is correct? :[

I finally got the way to actually curl it with my flat iron. But I want to make sure its perfect not all frizzy or stringy.

All your help would be apprciated!

PS- i'm looking for curls that are like this.. http://www.evilbeetgossip.com/wp-content鈥?/a>A ';how to curl your hair'; question!?
I have straight hair the same length as yours and there are a number of different ways to curl your hair. Here are some of my techniques:

    1. Hot rollers - they seem old fashioned but the work really well to give big soft curls like in the picture - they take about 15 minutes to put in and then you leave them in for 15 minutes (while applying make-up) then take 5 minutes to take out - it will take some practice but it works well once you have the hang of it.

    2. Not sure what they're called but they are cold, bendy sticks and you wrap your hair around them and coil it into a bun and either sleep on it or blow dry it and that also produces a nice curl and is fairly easy

    3. Scrunching... easy and fast - I apply a texturising spray to my wet hair and scrunch pieces of it under the hairdryer and you get a messy, beachy look which is not like your picture but different types of curls are good.

    4. straightening iron (ghds are fantastic) - it took me a while to get the hang of the motion but there are two ways to produce curls with it that I find effective.

    - taking a piece of hair at the scalp and clamping it, then you twist the straightener one revolution and pull through the length of your hair or you can start half way to produce curls only at the bottom

    - or you can clamp a piece at your scalp and turn it 180 degrees and pull it down for about 5cm then turn it the other way 180degrees all the way down the piece of hair and that also creates a nice wave

    - if you combine the two methods you get a natural look and once you've practised, you will learn variations

    5. Last super easy method is to put your hair in a few buns on your head and blow dry each one for a few minutes and that also gives beachy waves.

I have limp fine hair and it took my years to work out what would hold curls in.... you can buy volumising mousse or spritzes that you put in your hair before curling which work really well. I use garnier XXL volume which is fantastic. I use a texturising spray on my curls which also makes the waves look good but if you want a more perfect looking style like in your picture, I would suggest curling or volume mousse before styling and then a light hairspray to hold because you don't want it to look unnaturally glued together or to weigh the curls down.A ';how to curl your hair'; question!?
use a strainer that what i use then pull them down to drop them a little it will stay for the whole day
You can skip the leave-in conditioner; Heat protectant sprays have a conditioning agent.

After towel-drying your hair, spray heat protectant (Tresemme is great, and very reasonable) generously over your hair. Then apply a curl-defining gel-- or mousse, if your hair is fine-- (Tresemme Bouncy Curls Defining Gel or Flawless Curls Mousse) through your hair. Comb through with fingers to ensure even distribution. Blow dry straight with a round brush, or upside-down, to give your hair some body.

After your hair is dry and you've finished curling, spritz with a dry hairspray (like Aussie Sprunch Aerosol, or Tresemme Tres Two Ultra Fine Mist).
There are video out there show you how to do that:

    Curling hair?

My hair is naturally straight, but with all the layers it comes

out wavy (the out of control type of wavy) unless I straighten it.

    Past my shoulders too.

    Anyways, how can you curl your hair without using an iron. D;

I've tried using my flat iron to curl my hair, but it turned out super messy. Braids don't work for me either,

and my only solution are rollers.

I don't have any hot rollers but I do have the ones that don't heat up. Can you put your hair up in those while your hair is wet and blow dry it? Will it work?Curling hair?
there are products such as sunsilk waves of envy, or curl enchancers and srunch spray. if you use srunch or curling spray, spray a little on a piece of hair while its wet, then twist it around your finger and blow dry it on cool or warm air, and it should come out curly, or take a small round brush and twist it around thatCurling hair?
no it wont work if you have it wet you need to sleep in them

How can I style my hair to look like this?

    The style: http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg139鈥?/a>

Ok, so this looks really simple, like you just take your curling iron to the ends of you hair and curl, right? Well I tried and as usual I came up with something totally different. So I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong... The result of my attempt was a sort of flipped out look at the ends of my hair instead of ringlets. Could this be because I already flat-ironed my hair to get rid of the natural frizz and weird wave? Or is my curling iron the wrong size (a medium barrel)? If you have any advice please let me know!
