Hair Curling with Flat Iron Question?

My hair is straight and around shoulder length. hair curling irons and curlers don't work for me. i have a 1 inch flat iron and i would like to know in specific details how to curl my hair with that.

To curl your hair with a Flat Iron, you grab a small section of your hair and put the iron at the top of the section. Slowly twist and pull until you get to the end of your hair. You may want to do that a few times to get a nice curl.Hair Curling with Flat Iron Question?
-youtube has many tutorials but this is how i do it



1. section your hair getting the top layer out of teh way

2. grab a small section of hair and grab your straigtener and clamp teh peice of hair

twisth it all the way around and make sure that your straighterner is held vertically not horizontally.

3. pull lightly all the way down and you will then have a perfect curl

4. Work your way all along the bottom layer and continue working up until you think its enough
try to use a flat iron and and curl it
as for curling it think twice about a curling iron, I'd use a flat iron just because its better for you hair, its quicker and easier.

Hi it's really difficult at first and what the vids on youtube don't say is that the curlier the hair, the longer you have to hold the flat irons on your hair.



1) Pick a strand of hair

2) Curl the hair around the flat iron in the direction away from your head.

3) Keep curling until the flat iron is close to your head.

4) Hold for about 10 seconds.

5) Pull the iron out of your hair slowly (the slower you do this, the curlier your hair will be).

Pulling the iron out of your hair is exactly like straightening because you pull the iron straight down.

Twist small parts of your hair tightly before you put it under your irons, I couldn't say how long for because i don't know how hot your irons are but you'll find out soon enough.
To do the ';grip and twist'; that most you tube vids seem to show, the irons need to get warm at the least on the outside of the gripping part as well as the plate itself. If the outside of the irons don't get warm (some are specifically designed not to), then it is next to impossible!



You can get curling tongs pretty cheaply now in the big supermarkets (under 拢10 I believe) and to be honest it would probably be worth getting a set of these rather than struggling!

It may be your' straighteners! You need to grasp hair near to the root, then turn the irons 90 degrees, slowly pull them away from your' head (not upwards!) Hope this works x
Do like you arestraightening and put your hair through the plates. then take the ends and wrap it around the plates. then press on the plates while simotaneously pulling your ends downards. here im sure i dont make sense. watch this

Im getting married in about 2 months. I am going crazy with all of the stuff to do. But i need a good hairstyle for the honeymoon and stuff.i have like wavyish hair, and sometimes i wanna make it curly. my friend told me if i straighten it first, then i can curl it or make it into beautiful big waves (my natural waves are just messy) with the straightening or flat iron. It is possible, however, it is going to look more like a bad crimp because it is so thick. I would invest in a 1'; flat iron instead.

First you want to use a heat protectant on your hair and if it gives the added advantage of be a defrizzer that's great. MAke sure to comb it through your hair so it can protect it all.



Then section your hair into two(or if you have a lot of hair three) parts so you can get to the hair underneath.



Next take a small section of the bottom most layer and wrap the hair around the barrel of the curling Iron. Do not twist the barrel. IF you have thin hair hold it on there for 2-5 but no longer if you have thicker hair hold it on for 2 to 3 seconds longer.



Next release the curl but do not just let it bounce down it will loose all the curl. Hold it gently in your hand next to your head until it cools down. It should only take a few seconds.



repeat until all your hair is curled.



Last if your curls fall out easy use a light holding hair spray.HELP!!! How can I curl my hair with a flat iron?
Just wrap the hair around the flat iron. It should work.

does your straightener have floating irons? if it does this is what you do:

-take a small section of hair that you what to curl

-comb all the knots out

-get the straightener and run it about 1/4 down the section of hair (to get the top of it straight)

-twist the straightener 360 degrees i the drection you want the curl

-hold it there for a couple of seconds

-release the straightener and then twist your finger around the curl

How to curl your hair with a straightener:



1. Shampoo and condition your hair as normal. ';Blow-dry using a large round brush or paddle brush keeping the nozzle following the brush down the direction of the hair. This closes the cuticle and ensures you start with a smooth, clean canvas,'; explains Nader.



2. Apply a thermal protector (such as TCI Thermal Protector, $19.95). Tip: avoid oil-based products as they can weigh your hair down.



3. Section your hair, leaving the pieces at the nape of your neck out 鈥?this will be your starting point.



4. Take a two-centimetre piece, and place the iron as close to the roots as possible. Slide it through the hair slowly in a downwards motion, simultaneously turning the iron . ';The work is all in the wrist,'; says Nader. ';[Ensure] the movement is very fluid and in one long sweep 鈥?not too jerky.'; He also gives this good advice: the quicker you slide the iron the looser the curl, and the slower you slide the iron, the tighter the curl.



5. Continue working on the rest of your hair, one section at a time from back to front. Remember: the thinner the section of hair, the more intense and longer-lasting the results will be. Once you get to the front, be sure to wind the sections of hair towards your face (to avoid an '80s style). And don't curl shorter fringes 鈥?blow-dry with a large round brush instead.



6. To finish, use your fingers to comb your hair, raking them through to separate the curls. ';Use a good flexible hold hairspray to keep the curl longer,'; suggests Nader.



Still struggling? Adopt the old adage: ';If at first you don't succeed, try again.'; Once you get the hang of it, you'll be wondering why you ever thought it was tricky!

pretty much the same way you would with a curling iron.

just turn the straightener instead of going all the way down.
usually it depends what kind of striaghner you have..

it has to be a realllllly good one to have the perfect curls

okay, you get the piece of hair you want to curl and

clamp it about 1 or 2 inches from your roots.. then you

close the straightener and you wrap you hair around three

time and slide down slowy.. the slower the better the curl.
do it the same way u would do it with a curling iron but use one of those thin ones oh and for videos just go to youtube youll find plenty there so just try which ever u like best

Ignore the shameless promotion of the particular iron... and start at the bottom back clip up the rest and work your way to the top of your head.

It will prolly take a couple of tries to get this. Its awkward at first.
put the straightner at the roots of your hair (clamping a small section of dry hair)

twist the straightner around the hair once.

then straighten down as the twisted hair slowly unravels itself and you will end up with curls.
