Help!! im not sure how to use a flat iron.?

i just bought a flat iron called remington. please tell me how to straighten my bangs. their straight but the upper part is not the way i want it. i want to flip my bangs. thanks for all your help. oh and how do i curl my hair with it. =]Help!! im not sure how to use a flat iron.?
Plug it in, and after 10 minutes it should be hot enough. Hold your hand around the bottom so you can clasp it down when you straighten your hair. Use the other hand on the top of the straightener as support and extra straightening power. Put a lock of hair in between the plates and clasp down and hold it like that, pulling it down towards the end of your hair. Practice small bits of hair first and get more confident so you don't burn yourself. Try to keep the straightener like 2-3 inches at least away from your hair roots because your hair loses health and volume the closer it comes to the roots. Make sure you have it good and hot then start at the top with a lock of hair and pull it between the two plates. It helps and will be straighter if you do this slowly. If you want your bangs flipped then pull out toward the bottom of the lock of hair. Hope it works out!
