How do I curl my hair with a Chi Flat Iron?

my hair is a bit below shoulder length, and whenever i try to curl my hair with my Chi Flat Iron it refuses to look good. Is there a specific technique I should use?

Section a piece of hair, pull to the ends with the chi and twirl up or down depending if you want a curl look or a flip look. Continue doing this over and over until all your hair is done. (Tip: Try putting some mousse on your hair before you start styling it.) I hope this helps. Good luck.
